Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the UCPX barcamp 2026
General Questions
What is a barcamp?
A barcamp is an unconference - an open, participatory event where the content is created by the attendees, for the attendees. There are no pre-scheduled presentations. Instead, participants propose topics in the morning and create the agenda together. Everyone is responsible for their own experience: attend, contribute, and if a session isn't valuable to you, feel free to switch to a different one. Learn more about what a barcamp is
Who can participate?
The UCPX barcamp is open to anyone interested in User Experience (UX), Customer Experience (CX), Brand Experience (BX), People Experience (PX), Employee Experience (EX), and related fields. Whether you are a designer, product owner, developer, business leader, student, or simply passionate about experience design - you are welcome to join.
What language will the sessions be in?
The primary language of the event is English. If everyone in a session is fluent in German, feel free to switch to German.
Do I need to prepare a presentation?
No! You don't need to prepare anything in advance. Sessions are proposed spontaneously on the morning of the event. If you have an idea, question, or topic you'd like to discuss, you can pitch it during the session planning phase. Sessions can be presentations, discussions, workshops, demos, or Q&A - whatever format works best for your topic.
I've never been to a barcamp. Can I still attend?
Absolutely! Newcomers are welcome. A barcamp is designed to be inclusive and participatory. You don't need any prior experience - just bring your curiosity and willingness to engage with others. Read the barcamp rules
Do you have a Code of Conduct?
Yes. We expect respectful, inclusive behavior from all participants. Please read our Code of Conduct (opens in new window).
